Compose from a seven-persona trading crew you actually own. Each seat picks its model. Each seat picks its data. Risk holds the veto. Ten rails watch the chain. Every order waits for your signature.

A single model staring at a chart is a parlour trick. Real trading is an argument. Macro collides with technicals. Risk vetoes the sizing. Execution rounds to lot size. The Trading Crew writes that argument down, cycle by cycle. No persona reaches outside its lane. Macro cannot place an order. Execution cannot resize. Risk can always say no.

Each seat gets exactly the tools its job needs.

Tool sprawl is how agents go feral. The crew solves it at composition time. Every persona gets a scoped toolkit.

Macro gets FRED, EDGAR, BLS, and Congress bill search. TA gets OHLCV, indicators, and the WSS bar-close stream. Quant gets funding, open interest, and liquidations. Risk gets balances, positions, market constraints. Execution gets three write tools and the live market-constraints check. The model on each seat is yours. Claude on Risk for an airtight veto. GPT on Macro for breadth. A local Ollama on TA when you want latency for free. Cerebras, Groq, Gemini, Mistral, Grok, Qwen, DeepSeek, LM Studio for air-gapped runs. The model picker is one config away. A tool a persona did not receive does not exist, as far as its prompt is concerned.

Eight steps from blank canvas to armed crew.

Crew, Tools, Context, Orchestrate, Universe, Cadence, Safety, Review. Each step is revertible.

01
Crew

Pick the personas and the model behind each. Claude on Risk for an airtight veto. GPT on Macro for breadth. A local Ollama on TA when you want latency for free.

02
Tools

The per-persona palette. Restrict Execution to writes only. Lock Macro to FRED and EDGAR. Leave Risk on the full toolkit. A tool a persona did not receive does not exist, as far as its prompt is concerned.

03
Context

Attach the docs each persona reads before it reasons. Earnings calls for Macro. Internal trading playbooks for Risk. Whatever ground truth lands the model in the right context window.

04
Orchestrate

Set the chain shape. Sequential when handoffs matter. Parallel siblings under one bracket when independent analyses can fire at once. The shape is the program.

05
Universe

Wire the venue, the symbols, and the key slot. Run the crew in dry-run mode for as long as you want; live order placement is gated pending licensed execution. No way to trip the wrong account by accident.

06
Cadence

Pick the heartbeat. Real time, 1m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 1h, 4h, or daily UTC. Each cadence has its own gas cost and its own signal to noise profile.

07
Safety

Arm sidecars and hard caps. Daily loss halts. Consecutive loss kills. LLM cost caps. Release window blackouts. Ten rails by default.

08
Review

Print the entire crew as a read aloud spec before the green light. Personas, tools, context, cadence, caps. Read it back to yourself, then arm.

Dry Run mode · simulated fills · zero broker calls

Flip Dry Run on and the crew runs end to end against live market data without touching a broker. Same personas, same tools, same risk rails. Orders simulate, fills settle in memory, the equity curve updates. Live order placement is disabled pending local-direct or licensed execution; the public product is paper, backtesting, and read-only monitoring.

Awaiting Approval
tool_rejected_by_user

No trades reaches a venue without a human.

Every write the Execution Trader composes passes through the human-in-the-loop middleware. place_order, cancel_order, cancel_all_orders, set_leverage, close_all_positions, and every paper sibling. The chain freezes at the call. The pending approval card lights amber. Nothing moves until you decide. Approve, and the order fires with stop-loss and take-profit attached. Reject, and tool_rejected_by_user is stamped on the call record verbatim. The persona reads its own rejection on the next turn. The gate cannot be bypassed. No auto-approve flag. No admin override. A write that has not collected a human signature does not reach the venue.

Four watchers, running beside the chain.

The crew is methodical. The market is not. Four watchers run on their own threads. Two block, two trigger.

Liquidation Cascade
$200M of liquidations / 60s window. Fade or stand aside

Each watcher trips a flag the middleware reads before it serialises a write. None ask permission. Drawdown Sentinel polls equity against the session peak on a 500ms loop. A 5% drop from peak, or a 2% loss of boot equity on the day, freezes pending writes. Macro Blackout stands the crew down 30 minutes before and 60 minutes after FOMC, CPI, NFP. Funding Flip polls funding every 60 seconds. A sign flip wakes the crew so Risk can reprice. Liquidation Cascade sums forced liquidations on a rolling 60-second window. Past $200M, an extra cycle fires so the crew can fade the flush or stand aside.
